Tijelo fotoaparata otporno je na vremenske (ne)prilike i prašinu, a volumenom je za 7% manje od modela K20D. LCD ekran je dijagonale tri inča s 921.000 piksela koji može poslužiti i za Live View kadriranje. U rapidnom načinu okidanja K-7 prosječno snima 5,2 fotografije u sekundi.
Novost u ponudi su i objektivi DA 18-55 mm F3.5-5.6 WR i DA 50-200 mm F4-5.6 WR. Na američko tržište fotoaparat stiže u srpnju po preporučenoj prodajnoj cijeni od 1.300 dolara (samo tijelo).
